Culver announced today that they are canceling their summer school programs (not sure about remedial, but at least their enrichment programs). Can someone let me know ASAP if/when Niles Park District cancels summer camps?! I don’t begrudge the decisions being made, but I also need to figure out how we are going to survive the summer without camp, pool, or camping! Gah!

I mean, I would assume that since that any camp would be considered a “gathering” of large groups of people that they too will also be cancelled.

I think it’s safe to assume that all camps and stuff will be closed for the summer. ☹️

I just ordered one of those intex pools because Im pretty sure everything will be closed/ cancelled this summer. I would suggest buying one now they are already hard to find/ out of stock because everyone else is already preparing for no public pools this summer.

I’m holding out hope that Oasis will open and just cap capacity. I mean, pools are full of chlorine which kills everything, right?!  I can’t survive summer without a pool or beach to go to!

I worked at the YMCA headquarters downtown but got laid off March 30th due to the Corona virus. They are still creating new Facebook ads for summer camp which includes the Leaning Tower YMCA. Not sure if they’ll have a summer camp but they seem to be trying.

Chicago park district and Park ridge park district have tentative summer camp registration dates of May 11th. I think they may be in a wait and see what the governor decides to do

This will probably be determined by if our residents stay home and get rid of this virus or if it continues.

@ratan98 the virus isn’t going totally away, that will only happen once we have a vaccine.
