So our basement got flooded last night, we live on greenwood & sunset, can u recommend someone to help us with a French drainage system? Thanks

This is how he left it! I’m not a plumber but I know you can’t leave it like that! I called bishop, the guy told me to go buy tubing and run a hose! Why am I paying you! To leave the job half done!

@dasie5 this is how the people that put in my flood system left it. It was constantly flooding the area right around it, next to the foundation. 5:30 one winter morning and I hear an explosion under my room in my basement. Water spraying everywhere from the vertical pipe coming apart. The water in that little section going to the backyard had frozen solid which meant water couldn't be pumped out and the pressure burst the pipe at one of the points joining the tube. I was out there at 5:45 am in the below zero weather with a flashlight, screw driver and hair dryer to chip away/melt the ice so the water wouldn't keep spraying all over my basement every few minutes. It was a nightmare. We ended up hooking pvc pipe to that and routing it around the side of my house towards the front

We have done that too, but it is not a straight shot.

@econometrics its way 10 years ago. Call them they are super huge people. So helpful, we had an issue 4 years ago. They came right out. It was no fault of theirs

I also used Permaseal last year, best investment this far. Cost will vary on the size of your basement, but totally worth it!

I know I don’t have French drain but I had 3 drains installed in my backyard that drain to the front curb. I had shelly’s landscaping from northbrook do the work. He knew exactly what to do to alleviate my backyard flooding. Other landscapers wanted to draw electricity and put in pumps. Others said there was nothing they could do but raise the level of the ground. Shelly came, looked at the water, said what needed to be done. He said he installs the drains all the time. Had it done years ago and no more backyard flooding or standing water!

Do NOT call bishop plumbing! I had them replace my sump pump. The guy botched the pipe going out to the yard, drilled a new hole out the other side of house. Now every time it rains I have to bail water from the kitchen sink!
