Question

Does anyone know what to do if you have more trash than what fits in the provided container? Our basement flooded  and we have a lot of trash to dispose of. I cannot find the answer to this on the village website.

You can put in in a garage bag, make sure you can close up the bag, they said taking stuff in cans , closed up bags

If you have access to additional trash containers, Groot will pick those up. I have my own container from years ago and Groot picked it up just a few weeks ago. Good luck!

If you have everything in bags. You should be able to put the bags out and call niles public works so they can come pick it up.

Regular cans or bags at curb are taken. We had several out yesterday and they took it all

Call park ridge pick ups. They came and picked up and take it away. They do charge based on what you have be so worth it.

We cleaned out basement last week, pre flood and had 2 extra cans, regular, not groot issued and black 30 gal bags on bags on curb. They took it all. I was out front when they came and thanked them. I mentioned my surprise and appreciation seeing as we flooded and will now have more to refill those cans and he said, everybody will. with a smile.
