(Night terrors = screaming, staring unseeing, clinging and climbing over adults shoulders, bordering on seizure like. Manageable if you know what they are but shocking if you don’t expect them)

@gunilla The MA at our pediatricians office said her mom hallucinated from it.

My daughter got that way with the flu Saturday night. it was scary! no Tamiflu though. MD thought it was from the high fever.

Never taken it but I know it has lots of potential side effects. I'm sure it affects everyone differently, just have to decide if you're willing to try it ‍♀️

I have taken Tamiflu twice and my kids have taken it before and I like it, my son is on it currently and no issues. It works and knocks it out in a few days, no issues with it before.

I took it and personally did not have any side effects . Was he swabbed and tested positive for flu? If they are just “guessing” he has the flu, I would avoid taking it.

Our pediatrician will not prescribe tamiflu for kids. Benefits dont outweigh the risks according to her (we go to Northwestern in Danada Sq in Wheaton)

My 7-year-old is currently taking it with no side effects or issues. She was better after day 4.

When our kids had the flu when they were little we just let it run its course, they each only had it once.

If your child has had symptoms for more than 48 hrs they dont recommend it. And yes, the side effects can be worse than just flu symptoms. I work for a pediatric dr office. Some drs don't prescribe Tamiflu regardless. Rest and fluids! Thankslenol/ibuprofen as needed.

That’s a tough call. My daughter was fluB; doc on Friday of illness said he’d prefer not to give it to here because of side effects. Fast forward to Sunday/ 104. 7 temp. Back at immediate care - she’s crying of sore throat pain. Doctor put her on it and said the illness was getting worse and hopes this would help. She’s 13. 12 hours later she was much better. Still home three more days from school; but fever much lower and not in as much pain. She’s 13. Would the flu have run the same course without the medication- maybe?!? It helped her though. Now- when one of my kids years ago got prescribed it for the flu, I was too scared to give it to them based on the side effects.

My kids were exposed and put on it preventively. Age 4 and 12. They're fine.

My daughter was prescribed it on Friday. No side effects, fever gone after 24hrs, and back to feeling like herself come Sunday.

If you have Young Living, please use your toxinfree essential oils. Keep you immune system higher diffusing Thieves, Frankincense and Lemon. (They are in the premium starter kit). You can also make a roller for up/down their spine for prevention and on the bottom of their feet. I do on my kids every morning before school and at bedtime. You can also up the antioxidant drink with NingXia Red. Lots of sleep and keep hydrated.

It made my son really sick last year when he took it - he started throwing up within 30 minutes of taking it. Once it was out of his system, the throwing up stopped. He was 17 at the time, so a little older. He has the same reaction with dramamine. he's weird  Hope your kiddo feels better soon!

My daughter has been on it many times due to an underlying condition, flu can be really dangerous for her. She’s never had side effects from it.

Never ever worth that risk in my opinion! The horror stories are so real!

Nope. Too many side effects especially with a kid that young. My pediatricians office didn't really promote it when my son had it.

We skipped it. Had the flu last week. My 2yo and 4yo. Day 2-4 was the worst. Fever was almost a full week up and down. We kicked it without the meds.

Beware night terrors if you do - little known size effect in some kids. Found out the hard way

I had heard stories about side effects but my 20 month old had it recently for Flu A and was fine. Maybe an upset tummy.

Our pediatrician says it only shaves off about one day. He doesn’t feel it’s really all that necessary

My experience was I gave it to my 9 month old (this was a few years ago) it made her throw up. I didn’t give her any more after that!

Son had influenza B and it was like a miracle. next day he was almost 100%. No side effects for him. He was like a zombie before it with 104 fever that kept climbing over 48 hours.

We all took it this past week and we were better in two days.

My one year old had flu A and literally borderline vegetative. Scariest thing I’ve ever been through. It hit her so hard and fast- the tamiflu definitely helped but then she caught croup

My son and I took it a couple weeks ago. We were fine and it really helped get over it quickly. A little stomach issues but not a big deal.

Both my boys took it, 5 and 1 years old worked quickly no issues. One had flu a and one had flu b.

Personally I don’t think the risks are worth the supposed benefit of speeding up recovery by 12-24 hrs

My son was diagnosed with flu B on Sunday. I immediately took him to urgent care because of his crazy reaction to his symptoms and I’m glad I did . We were given tamiflu I also got tamiflu for myself and my daughter for preventative measures. I’ve had some tummy issues and my daughter (3) has been perfectly fine and hasn’t caught it. My poor son though still has it his fever was still there today but he finally is eating and not so lethargic today . I’ve heard the fever can last 7-10 days  hopefully the tamiflu cuts that down ! I do believe the tamiflu has made his symptoms not as bad as they could be . His highest fever was 103. 5 and Obviously most kids with the flu and get pretty high up there !

Both my boys have taken it. I would recommend probiotics prior to each dose to avoid nausea. Worked great for us
