Anyone have any idea why my baby's feet may look swollen and slightly red? Is that normal? I'll post a pic on the comments

Idk who your pediatrician is. but you should be able to call and talk to a nurse about any issues. Some even have an email address that you can send any concerns too and they will get back to you.

No that’s not normal. Did she have socks on?

Any new cleaning detergents? Mop or shampoo the carpet? New shoes?

Possibly allergic reaction.

No socks. nothing really new. it's only her feet though. no fever or anything. She seems normal otherwise

Change in weather?
by (1.2k points)
They honestly felt a little warm. Thought maybe she was just hot because it's a little warm in here. it looks better but it still worried me

@glarum my kids are older but they are all walking around red and puffy right now because I have the windows open

It could be that. I've reacted horribly to weather change before. Whole body was covered in hives one year

@glarum my body internally goes crazy when the weather goes up and down!

@territoriality yesss. It was that year where we barely got a winter and then it just suddenly got super hot for no reason and dropped back before it became spring

Did she play outside in the grass? Could be grass allergy or her feet got really hot in the socks and shoes?
by (1.2k points)
@mclaughlin3846 she's only 3 months old. I just noticed it when I brought her outside for some fresh air. I thought about letting her touch the grass, but I didn't. Was gonna wait til she's a little older incase her skin is super sensitive to stuff like that

@glarum did she get sweaty outside? It looks like there is an imprint on top of her foot and similar on side of the other. Was something touching her feet? Was she in a carrier or something else with her feet tucked in? It’s odd. No rash though right?
by (1.2k points)
No rash. I think that's honestly just the lighting though. they were red so if I touched them hard enough it would get lighter, but I wasn't grabbing on her feet to take the pic. Let me see if I can get another one

It’s hard to tell in the pic. I would air them out free of socks, footies, blankets, any obstructions, for like two hours. If it looks same or worse I would call. Maybe mark the swelling with a pen lightly to make sure it doesn’t get worse? My kids’ feet would get swollen and red after playing outside or getting hot and sweaty too, so maybe it’s just the temp change?

I was thinking it was just because they were hot. because they were warm. She didnt have a fever or anything, but it is really warm where we are staying so I brought her out to cool down and breathe some freshness in. They look better now. Just worried me
