It's very common when you have a baby, it usually comes back - mine did after my first. My hair did not come back after my second and continued to thin. Last year I started seeing a dermatologist that specializes in hair loss and I'm finally growing new hair!

It’s from having a baby; it will come back on it’s own

I wouldn’t color it for a while. Continue taking multivitamins Take care when brushing Don’t shampoo daily if possible Get a good shampoo/conditioneR Try collagen in your coffee/whatever

@annatto I have Monat it’s getting really expensive tho. And I wash every other day.
by (1.6k points)
@annatto It is expensive to start but if you break it down to how much you purchase any other shampoo monthly or every other month it actually comes out cheaper because the monat bottles should be lasting you 5-6 months. If you’re running out fast you might be using too much

I feel like since I’ve started using collagen creamer in my coffee, my hair grows faster! Ive definitely seen an increase in energy if anything and that doesn’t hurt with a new baby.

Good multivitamin is really all you can do. In the past I’ve used nioxin shampoo. My derm suggested rogaine for women. ‍♀️When it falls do you notice a small white bulb at the end? Your hair is in a shedding phase and theres very little you can do about it. It doesn’t matter how much you wash/brush b/c its going to shed regardless. Probably from having a baby. My son is 23 months old and I shed at 4 months post partum and again for the past 7 months.

The good news is unless you have a strong genetic component or a thyroid issue then its likely temporary. I’ve been through this a few times and I’ve done lots of research and lots of doctors so I know how you feel!

Get your thyroid levels and iron levels checked. Both often drop after baby. What many people don’t understand is the science behind postpartum hair loss. Here goes-During pregnancy, your bodies natural shedding process is significantly slowed or stopped. Once hormones level out after pregnancy, you will shed the hair you normally would have lost during those past 9 months AND be back to your normal shedding pattern. You will see clumps come out postpartum, but should not see your hair get thinner than pre-pregnancy. That often indicates something more going on, hence the recommendation to have thyroid and iron checked.

I feel like pregnancy hormones changed my normal a bit. I still can smell things way better then i ever could. my hair isn’t the same thickness or texture as before (but it’s not thinning). my hips stayed wider and my boobs stayed bigger. lol
