Ladies.  TMI but I need help or advice I’ve normally had pretty regular periods and have been on my birth control for a while now (nuva ring) but I’ve had this period for 9 days now when mine normal cycle is 3 days.Ladies. TMI but I need help or advice I’ve normally had pretty regular periods and have been on my birth control for a while now (nuva ring) but I’ve had this period for 9 days now when mine normal cycle is 3 days. It’s a lot heavier than normal as well, and I’m not sure if I should be worried. The cramps have also been horrific with a side of tears! Is this normal? Should I call my OBGYN?

9 days and horrific cramps is normal for me. If it’s not normal for you, I would call.

I’d call your obgyn this is not normal for you and they can make a recommendation if they need to see you or not based on your medical history

I would call. There have been times I was in a pill for years, then had to switch because it suddenly made me nauseous and cramps worse. Maybe you can send a mychart message?

My periods drastically changed the closer I got to 40 :( they went from 3 days to 7, much heavier, and I had never really had cramps before to feeling like a truck ran over me for a good 4 days. One thing that helped was switching to the diva cup, I think I might've been developing a reaction to the plastic in pads.

Probably has nothing to do with your BC. You’ll feel better after reaching out to your doc. We’re amateurs at best

Call your OB and take a pregnancy test. Something similar happened to me and I ended up having an ectopic pregnancy.

Wow. Lucky you. I’ve never had a 3 day it was always 7. Changed around age 30. To 5-7. But we’re more intense and hormonal then. Less cramps and skipped periods after 40 . I’m 51 and haven’t had a cycle for about 6 yrs now
