What do you about online shopping? I just finished month 1 and the first half I did cash envelopes and the second half I didn’t. I found what I already knew would be true- I’m so much less likely to spend cash haha I hate seeing it go out of my envelope but it’s so easy to swipe my card. But I don’t know what to do about having money for amazon purchases or online shopping. Just leave extra in my checking account? It’s not really realistic for me to go deposit cash every time I want to make an online purchase

I am a credit card person. I pay them off in full every month and the rewards really add up. I save it up throughout the year and had an extra $1200 for Christmas and travel last year  I definitely used to overspend though so now I use a spending tracking app called daily budget. Having to record every purchase big or small definitely makes you think twice, probably similar to that cash effect. Maybe something like that could help you

I got a prepaid card (Venmo) and I put a certain amount of money on it each month as if it were a cash envelope for online purchases. And just let it build up if I don’t use it.
