So I have a question on debt collectors. The company is called AssetCare LLC. First of all, both the women I talked to were rude as hell & also insanely pushy so it rubbed me the wrong way. Second, the last woman I talked to could see my credit card and said my EXACT available balance. Is that normal? Is that allowed? Third, I have the paper copy of the bill which allows me to set up a payment plan on there. Is it typically safe to do that to keep it off my credit report? Any other input/advice would be greatly appreciated as well! Thank you!

1 - yes that’s normal. Sometimes they’re nice sometimes they’re not. 2 - yes. That’s how they’re verifying tour debt. It would be fishy if they couldn’t tell you any of that info. 3. If it’s a credit card, all this will still be reported to your credit report.

@pheasant Oh I see. I would definitely set up a payment plan and to keep it off your report negatively

Everything you describe is normal and “allowed”
