I found out today when I was on the phone about my health insurance that I no longer qualify for insurance through Washington Apple Health. The income limit is $1375/month and I make almost $2000/month at my job in the restaurant working full time. I'm using my employer provided insurance where the deductible has to be met of $1500 and once the deductible is met, the insurance will pay 80%. I was going to physical therapy last year and not having to pay a deductible, now it's $175/visit. Does anyone have any suggestions for how I could get lower health insurance or am I out of options?

Maybe one of those insurance co ops that help share costs? Cost sharing insurance plan? I do not know how they work but check into them. Lots of people swear by them

Affordable health care, contact a insurance broker to get set up if it’s not to late for 2020. Wa state will pay most all of the premium as it’s income based.

@spelunker9 I would like to know more about this, how do I find an insurance broker for affordable health care?

@concertante76454 go to healthcare. gov, depending on the state you may not need a broker, regardless they can get you a referral to a broker or help you with the app. It has saved my butt from high healthcare costs!

Join the reserves, their health insurance is great and cheap.

Seriously it could work. It might not be so great if he got deployed.

@xanthic true, i posted that before remembering the events of the past week or so.

I thought maybe you were being a bit snarky but just in case.

@xanthic no, I'm a veteran myself and always grateful for the free healthcare I receive as a result. And i know many people who stay in the reserves to have that inexpensive care for their families. It's about $250/month for a family of 4. Individual is much less. Very low deductibles as well. It can be a good option for the able-bodied who might have an interest in the military already.

It's true it may be a best option for someone of the right mindset. I'd have a hard time getting through being ordered around much less putting my life on the line, but I know people who are the first to run into a burning building. I hope if it ever comes up, I'd be braver than I think.

Be careful with selecting an ACA plan. Some of the ones here in Texas take your money and don't pay out for much. Look over what's covered and ask a lot of questions. Specifically verify that the items you know you need are covered.
