Set savings goals and allow some fun money use when a goal is achieved. For example if a goal is to save up enough for a sports camp that costs $500k, once that goal is achieved, allow the next $50 earned to be totally used for fun (pizza out with friends, a movie date with significant other, etc). Then begin next goal.

I had a few small jobs. The ones where I got cash would be my "spending money". The ones with a check would be held in my filing cabinet until a little less than 6 months so I could still deposit it. I didn't have a debit card and I kept my ATM card with my parents to put away so I wouldn't be tempted.
