Can money paid to you as part of a long term performance initiative by an employer count as income under the SEC limits on investable amounts for crowdfunding? If so, is the money counted the year the award is given or the year it is paid out? Thanks in advance!

That depends, when it was awarded, where did it go

@stadtholder it's shares that don't fully vest for 3-5 years

@butterfish6306 gotcha, then yes it doesn't count as income until they vest

I’m not a tax professional - but it sounds like yes it is income. And it would be counted by your employees on your W2 the year it’s paid out.
