Hi I was wondering if anyone could give me some quick advice. So I’m a waiter here in Texas and due to COVID-19, I don’t work atm. We weren’t laid off or anything but from what I heard, we were put on vacation time or something like that. I do receive a check every week for about $200, I was wondering if I could apply for unemployment still or no?

Definitely apply. At the very least, it’ll give Texas accurate numbers of people affected. There is language about keeping the employment numbers the same for businesses that got a PPP loan (for forgiveness), but you absolutely should be eligible for at least something.
