Hello everybody, I need your comments. How do you feel about this new thing of renting solar panels and having a contract for 20 years with also having a fix rate for the light bill. Is this a smart thing to do?

Nope! We don’t know where we will be in 20 years. Plus, the company gets the tax write off.

Agree with above. We met with them and if you are not sure you will be in your home for 20 years, we felt it was way to risky. The discount of electric was not significant enough.

I work as a homeowners rep and can tell you I have seen many a roofs damaged by them screwing in the brackets to hold the solar panels on. And if your roof leaks because of it , that's not covered and you have to pursue the company to have the damage repaired

Sounds shady to me!

Sounds like a scam to me. Pay 40k for panels for a lower electric bill you wouldn't even see a return investment for 15yrs plus. And they are a eye sore to me.
