We average 100-150 a week. But it’s always home cooked meals. We only eat out once a week. And we are a family of 5, with my husband and I a 10 year old and 4 year old twins.

@esthonia1914 this is amazing. Where do you shop?!

Mostly aldi, jewel sale items, sams club and for our Mexican items that we don’t find in other stores at El Guero in crest hill.

Try meal planning your week so you what ingredients to buy and little food will go to waste. Left overs my husband usually takes for lunch. I keep a menu on my fridge and plan out the week. It doesn’t go as planned always but I work with the ingredients I have.

For groceries, really try to meal plan. That really helped me. Even if it’s just a loose plan for the week. Actually go through pantry/freezer/fridge before you shop and see what you have and can use, make a list, and if all else fails, I send my husband with the list bc he doesn’t veer off it . I’m the one who’s like oh look at that on sale, that would be good to have! When we really don’t *need* it.

We spent about $500 a month on groceries. That is split between ~$60 on a weekly trip to Mariano's or Meijer plus a trip to Costco every 2-3 weeks.

Join one of the local Buy Nothing groups on Facebook, there’s several different ones depending on which area of town you are in. I’m sure someone would have clothes for you!
