Question

Anyone who has ADT home security. in your opinion is it worth the monthly payment? I know it is much better and more reliable than others. My family is old school and leave their doors unlocked all day and some even at night, and make me feel like a worrier because I want to secure my house. Having ADT cuts down on home insurance, so that's a plus!

I would edit your post and not tell everyone you don't lock your doors!  Could lead to some unwanted trespassing!

@estimable just a sign may deter a burglar, but not in all cases. Here's a good article explaining why. My husband works with the incarcerated, has has talked with burglars and found this to be true.

We have a dog too. So hopefully that deters a little more. Personally for me I’ve never felt a need to have one.

Do you have Comcast? We like their system. You can set it from your phone.

@compline we don't have comcast. Maybe reconsider using that as a security system. It can easily be cut from the outside so criminals can break right in. Also, if your internet or electric is down, your security is down.

I have ring and like it. It's only $10/month or $100/year and includes all camera recordings.

We use ADT in our office. it's simple, good customer support, fair price point. we've been happy!

@richardson I wouldn't go with anything other than ADT since they have their own 4G towers. Ring and comcast go off WIFI and any burglar can cut your internet source from the outside of your home and break in no problem. Ring doesn't secure your doors or windows.

We have ADT but switching to Google soon bc our contract is up. I feel like it’s pricey compared to other companies.

@candlemas how much time do you have?  Classic bait and switch when they made their first visit. Installed the keypad then quoted me like $2, 500, and said he couldn't back out because he had installed the keypad. Our alarm doesn't always work. The power source went out once for some reason and they couldn't get to us for another 2 weeks. Charged us $75 to put a sensor back on a new door we had replaced. It's just been a mess. Their customer service (for us) is horrible.

@dane2983 that sounds awful! We were approached by the regional manager and distric president with direct contact to them if we have any issues. Already they are doing great work and very easy to work with. Crossing my fingers

We have ADT and I love it. Haven't had any issues. Love the piece of mind when I am home and when my 4 fur babies are home alone.

I think it’s worth it. I’ve accidentally tripped it and they call IMMEDIATELY. Also, they cover our insurance deductible if something should happen (knock on wood)

@kufic16 yes, we were told that our insurance deductible would be covered too, plus we save 15% on our home insurance rate for the year.

We have had it for 18 years now! Loved it for when the kids were little you could have door beeps if they open doors to go outside ! Also I had sleep walkers and actually had one open the door during the night once! So glad I had it for that too! Love feeling secure

ADT too expensive we just switched to vivint 56 monthly.

I like my ADT system, but I feel like they set me up when I first contacted them. They made promises about nothing out of pocket, all this equipment that would be included (wifi locks, cameras, doorbell, etc. ) and when the guy got there it was like $3000 for all the equipment - we went with them, but had to take a budget system.

Everything was covered for us but a $99 fee‍♀️ Added a $200 carbon monoxide detector, but that's because we asked for it.
