Question

Has anyone been tested (covid-19, not antibody) at one of the drive thru facilities? Based on your voucher time, should you arrive early or what? I’ve heard tons of mixed info. Thanks!

I went on a Sunday at the one on Jefferson. Filled out the form in the parking lot and they took me right there. There were maybe three cars. Got results on a Thursday . negative

My husband was tested Saturday. He has surgery tomorrow. He arrived early and did not have to wait until his assigned time.

My husband too. Had to get tested for a procedure. It said to have an appointment but he just showed up and they took him right away. There’s usually 5-10 cars at a time when we pass!

I went in March and waited hours got there early.

I went to the one at Edwards corporate with a 9:00 appointment time. I arrived at 8:50 and I was done by 9:15. I got the results back in less than 24 hours (negative)

@quianaquibble mine was precautionary because my asthma and allergies are acting up. I had chest tightness and a cough which is typical for me. But I’m also overweight so it was one of those better safe than sorry things

I was tested because I had mild symptoms for 2 weeks and was exposed. I talked to my doctor and they said to get tested. I think it also had to due with a immune compromised child in my home

There's a Walgreen's on boughton in Bolingbrook that had a site.

Urgikids in naperville is testing adults and kids. You can call and have a telemedicine visit then drive up for your swab. Results 24 hours later.

I just got tested Saturday at Edward-elmhurst. I arrived right at my appointment time and drove right back, and got tested. Super quick. Not sure who they are all testing there. I have surgery Tuesday and they make you get tested before it

I was scheduled at 11 and went at 11 and there were absolutely no other patients there. Super easy and quick. God bless our healthcare workers!

Do you need a doctor’s referral? Do you need an appointment? Do you pay yourself or is it free? If not free, does insurance pay? Just wondering.

@happ81 there are a number of ways to get it done. The easiest is to go through your primary care physician. They can order it/provide the voucher. You can also check out other testing partners like this if you don’t have a regular doctor.

I think the Emediate cure in Shorewood does. Their Joliet location does antibody and Shorewood does testing if you have symptoms

Hey ladies, thanks for the feedback. The drive thru test was very quick and I should get my results back in 3 days. Just a personal thought- Please keep in mind that the US is still experiencing a shortage of tests, so please don’t go unless you’re actually concerned you have it and are experiencing symptoms that correspond to the respiratory aspect of the virus. Most cases can and should be managed at home if possible! Be safe everyone  I’m turning off comments so I stop getting notifications
