Any wildlife rehabbers?  I have an injured bird in my yard and I would like to help him.Any wildlife rehabbers? I have an injured bird in my yard and I would like to help him. I can't take him anywhere far as today is my busiest day at work for the year and I am swamped. Edit to add - I tried to put him in a box but did not want to freak him out. I think he injured a wing as he can walk and is flapping his wings, but can't fly.

Did you see this bird get injured? If not It could very well be a fledgling, the mother kicks non-flyers out of the nest. they are called fledglings. she will abandon them and they die. I raised a morning dove . 15 yrs had no bird exp . but contacting animal control they told me to leave it for death. no way no how could I do that so I hand fed and had her for 15 yrs- best bet is to call wildlife federation- they take them and will nurse back to health and release.

I did not see the bird get injured and there is a nest in the tree he was by. You are probably right. I have 2 dogs (hunting breads) so I do not want to bring it in here.
