Question

Please tell me this a rumor. I “heard” that the Illinois House is passing a bill that it will be illegal to pump our own gas! Meaning gas prices will increase as stations have to hire attendants to pump gas. I know years ago this was the case in New Jersey but seriously? Gas is $$ enough. I don’t need someone to do it for me!

I think this governor we will sweep in try to make himself look like a hero that saves IL from a stupid law. This will be his distraction while he taxes married middle class people as a penalty! Yup that’s right. Get ready for that tax next year. It all smoke and mirrors just like his “here is your whopping 168. 00” tax credit, meanwhile Freddy taxes everything else to get HIS money back. It’s not a rumor. A Democrat lawmaker has proposed the bill. I do not think it’ll pass though.

@karinekariotta no kidding. For the prepay pumps . who's to say the attendant wouldn't sneakily take a picture with his phone of my credit card before giving it back to me? Just an example of why I would prefer to do it myself

I did hear a conversation about this on a morning talk show. The main points that were brought up by the freaking morons that called in & and by the djs were: it's faster to pump your own gas vs. creating jobs is a good thing. HAVE THEY LOST THEIR FREAKING MINDS ? NO one brought up that gas will absolutely cost more. Someone has to pay for that service. All the mom & pop owned gas stations will go out of business because they won't be able to afford to pay for more employees-especially when minimum wage is going up. There will be a loss of jobs and part of the American dream will vanish due to large corporations taking over. People are thinking too superficially. There WILL be a trickle down effect. Nothing and no service is ever "given away" by anybody. Especially by our government- who is trying to make bullshit laws that people buy into because they don't think

Another aspect. it might work fine in a small 4 pump station. Now let's think about the 15+ pump stations. Now you have to WAIT for an attendant. Also, it will be illegal to pump your own gas yet marijuana is legal. ‍♀️
