We are planning a trip to Wisconsin Dells over spring break but having trouble deciding where to stay. We have a 9 year old and an 18 month old ‍♀️. Trying to accommodate both girls. I'm looking at Wilderness Resort and Kalahari. help! Reviews are mixed on the Wilderness but does Kalahari have enough for a 1 year old? Thanks

Honestly both of those are fun! Kalahari has the indoor area that has mini golf and a bunch of other fun things. I always prefer kalahari. Enjoy your trip where ever you stay

We've heard great things about Wilderness, but have never been due to the sheer size of it. Everything is very spread out and it's a lot of walking from what I hear. We loved Kalahari & if you do the room specials, you also get access to the arcade for free which even has rides. I believe there is a family of four package that offers a lot of extra amenities. We also really liked Great Wolf Lodge.

Wilderness Resort for sure - look at the Glacier Canyon rooms - it helps to have the kitchen with the LO.

@primulaceous we have done this too. You can find these rooms on EBay. WAY cheaper than regular hotel room rates and soooo much room. And you have a washer and dryer in your room.

Wilderness is a great place to stay! They have 3 indoor areas for swimming to accommodate both age groups. That is our go to place.

We love Wilderness & Kalahari. For us it depends on the deal. The walking isn’t a big deal. Both my boys 13, and 4 have never had any issues.

Wilderness is my vote! We stay at both, but love Wilderness more with my 3 kids. There’s so much more to do.

I prefer Kalahari! We went when our kids were babies and they had loads of fun all day! The splash area is great and it is right next to all the slides, so easy for the older one to stay close but still get to do the fun, bigger stuff!

I always hear people recommending Wilderness, but it was disgusting. The rooms were gross. We ran out of there to the Kalahari

@bonnell10 that's what I was afraid of. The recent reviews are sketchy

We’ve always stayed at Kalahari! My boys loved it.

Both are awesome. If you choose the wilderness you can stay at fields motel and get free passes into wilderness everyday. The wilderness owns that hotel. It's half the price

We have done Kalahari a few times when my kids were smaller and everyone really enjoyed it.

I have been going to Wilderness for years, like almost 10 years. However! The last time we were there (this past summer) it was appalling. The rooms were fine, never had an issue there. The paint was peeling in two of the parks, there was visible rust and whatever they put on the floors to keep from slipping was PAINFUL to walk on. This would be the area around the playscape. I was actually super disappointed as I had never seen it in such bad shape. I personally think Kalahari is way too expensive for the size of the water park. Great Wolf is nice for the younger kids. I like that it has separate rooms like Wilderness.

I’d go to the wilderness since you have an older one

Loooove Wilderness. Lots of water parks to choose from and easy to get around. We stayed in a cabin and it was pretty awesome.
