Purchased a home where the Ring Doorbell wasn't removed. Called to get it switched over to me. Anyone have experience with this? What happens if the original owner doesn't respond to the email they sent him?

If it's already registered, it won't let you just register it. If that was the case, you could walk up to anyone's doorbell, and take ownership of it in 2minutes.

I’d at least cover it up until things get sorted out otherwise they could monitor your coming and goings.

Ring the doorbell and let them answer and tell them to disconnect it. Lmao

I would assume the previous owners took their internet equipment with them so unless your router's SSID uses the same credentials, it's no longer online and able to transmit.

The little orange button hold it for 30 seconds. That does a hard reset and then pair it with your Wi-Fi and your cell phone

@ri4 if the previous owners don’t respond, Ring will release the device from their account and you can install it. You won’t be able to do anything with it until it’s not registered to the previous owner.

@ri4 do you know what kind of doorbell it is? If you take a photo of it and post it here in the comments I’ll tell you what else you might need to do.

@ri4 if they didn’t leave you the box you might have to get a special screwdriver or usb charger. It depends on the model.

@exercitation2948 it's just a torx bit, you can buy them anywhere if I am not mistaken

@ri4 looks like it might be a Ring Pro. Ring support can tell you for sure by the Mac ID on the back. If the letters and numbers are too small to read, take a photo and enlarge the photo.
