I like the feature on the Floodlight Cam and the Video Doorbell Pro where you get about 10 seconds of video before a event. Does the spotlight cam or stickup cams have that feature as well? I can not find it in the specifications. Thanks

The non-battery cams do that, use every chance you get, then battery if you have to. battery, or plugged in battery, still suffers a 3+sec delay to record *after* the event

It was explained to me by a Ring representative that the wired Ring devices are continually sampling video for motion in 5 second snippets. If motion is detected, the snippet is saved and recording starts. Battery devices do not. They use a different motion detection system and start recording when motion is detected.

The latest Stickup cams Plugin/Solar and of corse the battery cameras all can use a battery and unfortunately do not pre-record and also have the more limited “Adjustable Motion Detection”

I'm a current Ring user (have a Ring Doorbell Pro and Floodlight Camera) and am thinking of replacing my current monitored home security system (its back end is powered by Alarm.com) as the monitoring service will be up for renewal in a month.

About 75% of the time when we get an alert for our doorbell pro, we can’t see the video right away in the app because it says video processing.
