Just had another floodlight cam arrive at my house and the backing plate is definitely metal - not plastic.

So my recommendation would be to ensure that your supply wires are properly groomed with adequate copper exposed before putting on the mounting plate. Then feed those through the plate while attaching and use the supplied hang hook keep to the device close to wires so you’re free to use two hands. The first time I did this I made the mistake of working with my arms up at head level. I suggest getting a proper ladder to put the whole rig in front of you at chest level.

I have a new flood light cam, I know 9ft is the recommended height but I wonder what 20 ft would look like?
