Question

Anybody know a way to try to convince the programming guys at Ring to increase the “Live View” option from 10 minutes to 20 minutes or continuous? There’s a reason for my request which would be a little too long to post here, but I do find the need to constantly monitor my driveway while I’m sitting in my office with a window view of the driveway. However, the shrubs that are planted outside restrict my complete view. Any suggestions…….

There are many inexpensive internet connected cameras that will do this better than a Ring device. I have Ring cameras and they do their job well but I also have several cameras that I just use to check on things when we are away.

I have Ring cameras but use Wyze cameras when I want to monitor for long periods of time. They are dirt cheap and have great video.

You dont need anything fancy, it doesnt need to be a cloud connected camera. Just any dirt cheap web cam will do it. It doesnt need to record but most of them can be configured to record to an SD card if you need that. I use mine for just on-demand live video (laptop, phone or tablet) and if I want to I can watch it all day.

You could submit a request but it's probably going to take more than just one person requesting it to be of any priority for them.

Tbh, if you need constant cctv, invest in cctv.

Ring has a new option out where it takes pics at certain intervals. They are rolling that feature out slowly. It's called "snapshot feature " .

We use Netvue for that.

I wish they could find a way to reset the cameras through the app. It’s a pain in the butt to have to climb a ladder to reset these cameras if you have to.

My snapshots take photos every 30 seconds As for the 10 minute live view I would love to see much longer. I'm laying here wide awake with live view on one of my cameras. It's a pain having to click reconnect every 10 minutes I however don't think it will be very long until we get a increase. Especially on motions. I reckon that will roll out soon with the ability to set especially motion timers from 30 seconds to ond hour.
