Infared is a crazy thing. Looking for differences in heat sources. Trucks are large but cargo is ambient. Not much change really. Cars have hoods engines in line with your camera, passengers can be easier detected as well. Sun warms a shinny car etc. Trying to create a human only device is difficult with technology available now. Give it time.
