So have tons of Ring cameras with never any issues and recently added some smart lighting with bridge. Installed at first and no issues at all. Now it says updating and I tried reinstalling and reconnecting. Contacted customer service and says my WiFi is the problem. Odd thing is the lights still work and are still linked to my cameras motion but still says updating. I even bought a new bridge and it still says the same thing. Any ideas?

Interesting considering the lights work and communicate via RF back to the bridge. So unless the bridge is not getting the WiFi, wifi shouldn't be your issue.

What ring flood light do you have that looks different to what we have? Can you send me a picture I thought they only had one design?

@deprecatory so for the flood light it is like this but mine are white in color.

What is the health of the bridge? Does it show it is connected to WiFi?
by (270 points)
@tonedeaf397 it doesn’t show anything when I checked health. Here is a screen shot without the serial number.

@unsteady man, that is weird

One would think that blaming the internet and routers is getting old. Time for RING to come clean, and realize it is their updates and servers with the problem.

Have you added a WiFi bouncer maybe it needs a boost.

@margertmargery if you mean WiFi extenders, I do have 2 with Verizon Fios and an outdoor access point for the camera that is about 250 feet from my home. Plus have 1gig upload and download.

Take a picture of the health of the bridge device and see what the signal strength

@sakai I have actually did the whole reset and start from the beginning, but it shows the same thing. I even ordered a new bridge and it does the same.

Try to connect to your router not your extender if you can

@sakai ok let me try it! Thank you for your help

@sakai ugh I give up. I completely reset it. Tried to do install new device multiple times. Then got the original bridge I had and it does the exact same thing. It does connect to WiFi and blue light stays constant on, then starts blinking again fast then constant on then slow then get this message.

@unsteady Well the next suggestion is to call RING and talk to their technicians. If they cannot help they will elevate to the right person. Good luck good sir! Will follow to see your out come.
