Of course yes. In case an intruder can shut down your home's power or plug out the ring alarm. Believe me it still goes off loudly even plugged out.

I think yes but you have to recharge it when the battery runs out. What if there were an intruder when it run out battery? To me plugging in would be a better choice.

If your wifi shuts down, Ring Alarm will switch to Cellular Data Network of AT&T but only when you subcrise to their Protect Plan.

Yes. I read somewhere the keypad battery can last 10 months. I think most of the time you’ll use your Ring App on your phone not the keypad.

Think about getting a smart lock. You can arm or disarm the alarm when you lock or unlock the door.

@
escarp6583,
just be aware that the battery on the base station is for power failure backup. it will only last for about 24 hours. It is not intended to run solely on battery power like the keypads or other sensors. Hope this helps!

so is the siren ( or base station ) the only thing that needs to be constantly plugged in ?

escarp6583,
yes the base station and the extender are the only items that require to be constantly plugged in. the keypad needs to be charged periodically, but there is an indicator light on the keypad that will illuminate yellow when the battery is getting low, then red when it’s extremely low. But they last for quite awhile between charges. The other sensors require a battery that you physically have to replace. I’ve had my system since it was released, and have yet to replace any of those batteries

you would have to put it up there to see how loud it is. the keypad also will sound the siren sound, but it’s not very loud
