Solar charging will not replenish a battery powered camera that records 24/7/365. You will need to go wired for sure. …….

- I’m happy to change a battery every day if required.

At this time ring does not have any continuous recording cameras.

You can do snapshot every 5 minutes on battery devices, that’s the best you’re getting. If you do that with two batteries and a solar panel you’ll still kill the batteries in a couple days depending on how much motion you see.

same here. only reason I kept all with them is the promise of 24/7. If it doesn’t come by the time I move then I’ll go with something local that I can manage myself.

yeah, I love Ring prices and simplicity, but I'd prefer the 24/7 that Nest has. BUT I don't like Nest price points with so many cameras I'd have to replace.

yeah, I’m in the same boat. have 13 cams total and not paying that much for each one. The reality is I’ll pay out 2-3K for a good DVR or NVR system and just do the Cat6 runs myself in the attic.

yeah, that sounds like a plan. Already have a network panel running now.

The only device that I'm aware of that does continuous recording is Nest. Ring does not support continuous recording.

I’ve set up my alarm system and have come up across a couple questions and thought I’d check with the group before calling ring to see if someone can answer.

I'm a current Ring user (have a Ring Doorbell Pro and Floodlight Camera) and am thinking of replacing my current monitored home security system (its back end is powered by Alarm.com) as the monitoring service will be up for renewal in a month.
