I have a Ring Doorbell 2 and I like it except for one major fault. If the doorbell goes offline for any reason, it does not notify you. I just took out the battery and when I check in on the app it still says it's on battery mode but of course when I try to see the live view it tries to but unsuccessfully activates the doorbell. Shouldn't the app inform you if it's offline?

If it's off line how's it going to communicate?

@lesialesion Easy. When the device gets below a certain power threshold, it can send a notification out. Similar to how smartphone alert us currently when they are going into power saving mode.

@gipon1 does it send the notification out by Wi-Fi or built in emergency sim?

@lesialesion Saying that it’s possible the device could do that prior to going below its low power threshold. It would be a push notification like a doorbell press or motion detected
