You could have her remind you to check it at 9:00pm everyday ‍♂️ Otherwise I'm pretty sure there's a Chamberlain garage door opener that works with Alexa.

Get yourself the myQ wifi adaptor then you have the app to self close the doors after 5 mins. super easy.

Use a zwave door sensor on the garage and notify you after 9 with an announcement.
