I was adjusting and adding zones and I noticed the three zone colors. Can someone please let me know what they mean? Thanks

Don't think they mean anything. They just show up in different colors to help you differentiate them next to each other or overlapping.

I have seen comments that the zones should not overlap as your red and blue zones do.

I also see there is a box to check for active, I think what I was trying to do is make a zone on the brick sidewalk so the light comes on in the early morning when I leave for work, but I also want a zone at the entrance of the driveway to see who’s coming and going

@foretime8342 motion zones for the camera and light motion zones are controlled in two different places in settings

Zones are to fine tune motion. Prime example, in my driveway, I blocked out a section where the camera didn’t look because I had a flag there. If I left that section on then I’d get alerts all the time. Some slight overlap can be okay on zones, but you don’t want too much overlap.

@pentosan53231 yes I moved the zone away from the garage door about 10 ft and the yard where my wife does gardening. My main focus is driveway entrance and sidewalk so light turns on. Too close to the house and we set it off all day. Our bedroom is in back of house so I like to see the front of the house.

Surprised you needed so many zones for your coverage. A single polygon with 8 set points should have taken care of your area. Like above post said use multiple zones to fine tune. I have 4 wired cams and use a single polygon for all of them.

@nyhagen I made it 2 zones now, driveway and sidewalk

You could have got all that with one zone.

My stickup cam has three privacy zones for neighbor privacy and they are solid black and not transparent. My ring doorbell has 3 motion zones all blue and transparent

The Red Zone is for immediate loading and unloading of passengers. There is no stopping in the White Zone. #Airplane

Hey wouldn’t it be nice if Ring could motion alert on some zones and not others? I want my Ring flood to record when there is motion in any zone but only alert if there is motion in certain zones (e. g., closer to the house).
