We agreed ring and i that i would send back product first as i refused to pay $1 with my card. (didnt want to give card details) so that when they recieved my return they would replace

@weightlessness2883 it is collateral but since my card is on file because I pay for the protect plus plan it didn't bother me. It is a $1 hold and you have 30 days to send the old product back. Once they receive the defective product back they release the $1 hold

They already agreed that i can send doorbell back and they will send replacement then. but i need label

I didn’t even get asked to give my card details, they just put the $1 hold on my card that is used for the ring plan, then emailed and told me they had done it.

Everytime they replaced something for me I received the product first and the return label was in the box

I got a FLC replacement and a return label in a couple of days. Wasn't worried about the credit card since they already had it to renew my yearly protection plan. Now I have 30 days to return old FLC and they reverse the $1. Easy.

Had one of my spotlight cameras replaced. No return label was included in the box, contacted them about it, said I would receive it via email but still nothing.

The $1. 00 is a hold, not a charge. When they receive the old unit it is removed from your card.

@weightlessness2883 Yes. But you’re bucking the system. Now some $4/hour clerk has to make that work for you. Far easier to go with their established protocols.

Hi @weightlessness2883, if this is a continued concern I would be happy to take a further look into the shipping label for you. Send me a direct message if you would like me to take a look :)

I suspect it is too difficult. The return label is linked to the replacement request ref number, so when they receive it they can 'tick it off' against the replacent. I suspect they cannot create a return label before they generate the new replacement request. I think for the sake of nothing you will create yourself problems - in the event someone does manage to create a return label up front, you'll return the item and it won't be linked to anything. The person that receives it in the distribution center doesn't have the ability to create a replacent request, so somehow Ring will have to create the replacement (perhaps if you provide tracking proof to a rep), then a replacement request will be created - but to do that they need to generate a return requirement, which you won't be doing! I can't imagine there is a mechanism to create a link between a previous return and a later replacement.
