It's not water proof if you are putting water directly on it like pressure wash or so.

It’s weather proof. Not sure I would intentionally submerge it in water though.

Water resistant is the term you're looking for, I believe and yes they are.

Birds keep using mine as a perch, so rinsed it the other day lightly which didn’t take off the bird poo so had to use windex and paper towels. Thought I better not blast it with water.

I have my old ring on the side of my house as an additional camera and it’s been out in all the rain snow for two years and still works like a charm. (We gets to a of rain all winter, i live in the PNW)

In summary no, it is not water proof. It can withstand “splashes” of rain, but not “pouring” or “soaking” water.

Ok not putting it in the toilet. Just asking because I want to put it on the outside my garage door. But living in Nevada maybe I should've asked about the heat as well. No it wont be in direct sunlight either.

Heat will discolor it and might peel the finish. happened to me

Since people are nitpicking over waterproof versus water resistance I will point out that waterproof does not exist, nothing is waterproof. Everything is merely water resistant to some degree or another.

Stormy days have sprayed ours for few years with no problem.

It is weatherproof. good thing it is also works in actual crazy temperature -50C. We got that temperature last year and all our cameras have survived. Ours have been exposed to strong rains as well and heat.

I think their description somewhere says water resistant. To me, that is NOT the same as water proof. ;)
