I just got 1 a week ago. Battery was at 79%, the next day it was at 100%. I maxed out my settings it would drop a little at night but back to 100 by mid morning. I wanted to see how it would do on my heavily shaded side of house before I buy another and right now, with very very limited sun exposure, its increasing by 1% each day. So I'm getting another and extension cords to get better access to direct sunlight. My experience is only a little over 1 week but I'm sold.

@atheling from my experience, put it where you get the most sunlight. The longer in the sun, the better.

That is the plan.

I’m running a Ring panel on my SLC. No issues at all in over 2 years.

I got the regular Ring one on 3 of them and no issues it works great and keeps two batteries in each of them charged most of the year.

I have 2 spot cam battery with the standard Ring solar panel each. I had to make a special bracket for the one on the north side of the house so it would face the sun, but the both work great

Never used the Ring panels but I absolutely love my Wasserstein I have connected to one of my Spotlights. Going to buy two more very soon for my others. Love this one. Barely needs sun to charge. Works great!

I currently have 3 Wasserstein (installed - 5 in total ) and 1 Ring branded. I was on the phone with Ring for almost 2 hrs today. I got the Ring branded unit to work on one cam. After I tried it on four. I couldn’t get the Wasserstein to work on any of the units. I’m taking them down on the next nice day and returning them.

I have the ring one. I had bought two batteries for the spotlight cam as well and honestly that was a waste the batteries never go below 90% even in the winter in Pa.

I use solar panel for my spotlight cam and works great. I live in Illinois where it is cloudy a lot in winter and had plenty of power between charges. Had it for over a year. Great pride but pricey.

They also just came out with the Floodlight Solar that uses the same batteries as the doorbell and camera. Their battery only solutions have crappy battery life. But the solar panels and hard wire versions work great. I have a solar panel on my spotlight camera, stick up camera, and now one of the floodlights. They stay pretty much charged and I have no need to swap batteries.
