Anybody know if the contact sensors have any warranty for the batteries or anything like that? Or know how long they’re supposed to last? I know they’re relatively inexpensive but am curious because my girlfriend just set up her system a couple months ago and I’ve had mine almost 8 months and all my contact sensors are perfect but one she rarely uses is saying battery needs to be replaced and it’s not even 3 months old. Thought these batteries lasted a long time. Like a year or more? Anyone have experience? Thanks!

I’ve had to replace the battery in one of my sensors about 6 times in a year. I finally just stopped putting them in and just hope for the best. Starting to think it’s not the batteries.

I think it is just a defective sensor. It’s on a window that never opens at all but does runs through battery’s.

I had the same thing happen to one of my door sensors as well. The battery failed in about 6 months the other 5 sensors were fine. I contacted Ring and they sent me a replacement battery for the sensor free of charge. They were really great about it and couldn’t be happier with the customer service they gave me.

Is that particular sensor out in the cold? When batteries get cold, the chemicals inside don't react very well any more, so they'll read as "low". Once they warm up, they'll be fine again.

I had that happen and it took a zwave repeater to stop it from happening. Ring support can tell you if the signals are weak or dropping. They say a batter should last a few years.
