So I am new to the Ring system and have recently started the monitoring. When I wasn’t signed up for monitoring I never once set the alarm off, but now that I have the monitoring I have done it on accident twice. My question is, why does a computer call you after you set it off and turn it off? If it was a actual emergency situation I want a live person to be calling!?

I believe it’s because you were within the acceptable window. Ours recently went off for longer than that window and a real person called us.

It is because you disarmed the system after it went off in less than I believe 45 seconds to 1 minute. If you have confirmation call enabled it basically will give you an automated call to confirm every is okay. I would assume in a real emergency you wouldn't disarm the system quickly.

You have ‘Confirmation Call’ enabled.

Thanks, just disabled it.

Just be aware, now that you’ve turned this feature off, if you disable the alarm with a proper code, you will not get any call now.

@market406 is right on. If you shut the alarm down within the first minute of it sounding, you have the option to have an automated call placed to confirm it was a false alarm. If you dont answer the robo call, a live human will follow up. If the alarm sounds for longer than that initial minute, it will automatically move to their live person call center whether you disarm or not.
