They’re both shit the 2nd Gen/ New Elite is where it’s at. Being able to customize zones if you do plan on going the electric route since you get longer recording time.

Hate that they now call it the Elite and force you to pay 20. 00 more for the injector. I got a 8 port PoE+ switch would never use the injector.

yeah it doesn’t make much sense. I also was pissed they removed the dual-band connectivity for the WiFi.

Did they? If you read the Specs it’s still there.

I meant on the $100 cameras, not the elites. I can recall getting those second gen stick up cams on sale for like $129 each, and now they’re almost double that.

They didn’t remove the battery versions never had 5Ghz, I think? I saw those 3-wired Stickup Cams for 200. 00? from Costco and was tempted but ended up not getting them really had no where to put them. Waiting for a truly next gen PoE camera before I would replace. Really want a 4K for better identifying details but NOT UNLESS you could record and view locally. Will probably someday end up getting a couple 4K PoE and NVR for 24/7 and do Ring for integration and notifications and NVR for detail. Don’t know if I could get it pass our HOA

nah the battery versions were never but even the new stick up cam’s ( not elite ) don’t have the 5 GHz or the biggest deal breaker is the custom zones. I have no idea why that feature can’t be implemented on all cameras.

Well I don’t like describing products like that but the Battery cameras have fewer features including recording time and the need to “Rest” after recording before they record again. The 2nd Gen Elite can be plunged in Or powered PoE. IF AND ONLY if you can not reach power or if you cannot run Cat5e/6 cable then you use battery powered.

I haven't had any issues with the spotlight camera with solar power. Works fine. I also have a 2nd Gen stick up with solar and I have not had to change the batteries out in 4 months, staying between 90% to 100% charged.

The Stickup Cam Solar does but not the Stickup Cam Battery or Stickup Cam Plug-in.

Not the plug in I agree, but the battery powered does, as the solar panel charges the battery in the unit, I have two of them
