Question

Please help me adjust my settings. When I get alerts of 'person detected' and I view the recording in the app, it basically only shows them walking away. How do I adjust my settings to that it captures and stores the entire action? At my office, the DVR there records on a constant loop and simply deletes inactivity, but when there is activity, it saves the three minutes prior to said activity, so you can view the entire action, even before and as the person is entering the field of view.

@coronal - Yes. is that my problem? The wiring from my old doorbell is inside the door jamb and will be quite difficult to fish to the mounting location of the Ring. but that's what I need to do, I guess? (House built in 1936, so nothing is quite 'normal' here)

@shechem can you get a plug in adaptor? Is there an outlet nearby?

@shechem Common problem with all ring battery cams and doorbell. Either return it and get the Pro or Elite doorbell or get a motion sensor or other cam or path light and place it further out to trigger your cam sooner. Hard wiring your battery doorbell will not fix the delay problem.
