Hello, thanks for the add. i need your advice, my area has a really bad connection, my internet router is upstairs while downstairs is a deadzone. i first bought a ring doorbell but i really have a poor connection, so i bought a chime pro, and i placed it upstairs, i used to place my chime pro downstairs but the connection is still crap. then i bought a security alarm with all the motion sensor and range extender, i put the extender downstairs. i spoke to a ring agent on the phone and he mentioned that i need to buy another extender for upstairs so the wifi can reach downstairs. isnt the chime pro supposed to do that? or should i buy the extender instead?
Hello, thanks for the add.

Better off with a mesh network and a security range extender.

Why don’t you look at Improving your WiFi? UniFi do some great networking gear. I’ve just bought a dream machine as I live in a cottage I had terrible WiFi due to the thick stone walls Everything works great now

Hardwired wireless access points will be your best bet. +1 for UniFi from Ubiquiti.

You will need to upgrade your WiFi to a mesh system. I recently installed an AMPLIFI 1750 HD system about $350 easy plug and play install it also comes with two mesh points you can set up in different locations to expand the WiFi coverage. I have 6 cameras ( 2 door bell and 4 flood light) around my house and they all work without lagging now. After installing the system I checked the RSSI on all of my cams and number went down by anywhere from 10-30 depending on the cam location. Just for fun I took one of the door bell cams and carried to the back of my detached garage and it still was working this is about 75’ away from my house. I thin the RSSI value in it way back there was 70 or 72 I don’t remember exactly but the camera was still notifying me of motion and I was watching my 15 lb dog on video. Just make sure you do not put any special characters in your WiFi name or you may have trouble getting your cams to connect to the system.
