It’s rolling out now so we’re not totally sure, but it seems like a way for the Ring devices themselves to act as hotspots for other Ring devices in a daisy chain to at least provide photo snapshots during internet outages.

Ultimately, yes - it’s going to reach a point in the chain someone isn’t impacted to finally connect. So it’ll be on their network as an end point. But it looks like just snapshots of an event being passed.

It is the new panic feature where if you press it your Ring shoots off the side of the house at people you dont know and it lands onto the pavement.
