Do you think is a problem for a blog in a finance niche (where images are not very important for SEO) to do a bulk change in all the images? Imagine that you have 1000 articles. Every article have 2 images. We don't receive much traffic from google images. And you want to change all images in bulk. Do you see any SEO problem on that?

That's a lot of images to change at once but I suppose it comes down to what else you'll be changing in terms of ALT= text, captions, image file names, image composition, etc.

@narcotize thank you for your answer. Imagine a finance site. We receive very very little traffic from Google Images. And images are not that important to our users. What we want is: 1) Remove in bulk 50% of images in the site 2) Replace the other images in the site with new ones The reason is that we used to have stock images, not we want to have unique images to change the others

@foliation5456 I suppose if no one else replies in the next 1-2 days you'll be the guinea pig in this experiment. I think that's too broad a change for a glib guess (from me) about potential consequences. I hope it turns out for the best for you.
