I want to experience the dark/deep web has anyone done this and what are your findings?

The dark web is freaking amazing. Judging by all the comments here, I doubt anyone's actually spent any time or investigated very thoroughly. They seem to be regurgitating things They've heard before but I could be wrong. Yes, you can buy drugs, and guns, and lots of drugs, and counterfeit money. Hell, there have even been instances of human slaves for sale. But you can also buy some other really cool stuff. Like denial-of-service attacks on your enemies. You can shut down A website for 24 hours with a DDOS attack for $35. You can shut down a website with a DDOS attack for a week for $150. You can buy porn site backlinks, and Target your enemies or competitors, and all kinds of cool stuff related to search engine optimization black hat. And that's just the beginning. The underworld is a bazillion times more interesting than anything on the world wide web.

@burress6370 Get a good VPN, download the Tor Browser, search for onion addresses, and if you communicate with anybody, set up pgp encryption on your email. If you buy anything, pay with Monero, preferably with escrow, and try to have it shipped to an address that you don't live at.

It's a lot more mundane than a lot of Reddit articles/ YouTube make it out to be. Most of the "scary" stuff is also fake :P Download tor. If you're looking to get into sketchy things, learn how to download an OS onto a flash drive, I think Tails is pretty popular and is compatible with Tor.

@chastain 90% isn't on google, not because it is illegal or composing the dark web. But simply because it isn't indexable, because it is part of private companies network or websites that ask not to be indexed (yes, that exist). The dark web is a very small part of the internet, mostly for journalists requiring privacy and illegal stuff. Finding those websites is quite hard and often require to have the link being sent to you in the first place as the research engine there don't allow to find much.

@chastain go for it buddy. but gotta know where to look  when you down there! search reddit for reliable . onion links and DW directories. onion links change constantly and are pretty hard to recall so keep a notepad log of the good ones you find Pro Tip: Never do Bookmarks on Tor and make sure the Tor browser is never opened at full screen view.  Be weary of everything you see down there and take nothing at face value [Lots of little known knowledge but also lots of cons and scams] even the most elaborate and believable sites could be scams! @grizzly understood and have been some and created some fascinating places there. I've been active there since the mid 90's but typically don't recommend newbies jump in with two feet and no tour guide. It can be a bit overwhelming.

I mean you can see some sketchy stuff if you know where to look but a lot of It is fake. It’s fun shopping for guns, drugs, and stolen identities, but it gets boring after about 5 minutes if that. Pretty underwhelming. Just download Tor and look for a link to hidden wiki and browse the links there (if that’s still even a thing).

By definition the deep web is just the internet that is not indexed by search engines. Even the account pages for online banking and such are considered the deep web. Dark web you can only access through a tor browser. Like most people said there is a lot of nonsense. There’s a lot of nefarious stuff of course, but most of the nefarious stuff you can easily stumble across are just places for police or investigative agencies use to find people trying to commit serious crimes. It’s interesting to poke around. But anything that is known about or written about in surface web forums is most likely bullshit, a police sting, or set up specifically to seem creepy with no substance. Be careful exploring, but if you’re like me, it’ll lose its appeal after an hour or so.

I mean I've learned a lot from the "dark web". But back 10 years ago it wasn't really called the "dark web". Once upon a time (1999) I googled how to make money online. I stumpled upon a forum for dark web stuff. Cards, drugs, etc. I became really active and learned all sorts of tricks. Then one day secret service raided my house. Then I went to prison for 5 years. And Wesley Snipes ended up being my bunkie for 9 months ‍♂️. Fun times. But yeah I do wonder what the dark web is like now.

Yeah seriously. I could go into detail about the fun stuff but I would just be rambling. Wesley told me I need to go write a book. I was doing the fun stuff longer than the time given. The most confusing thing for new people to the dark web encounter is the domains are not . com . co. uk etc but the TLD is actually . onion The domain names are also random characters too making it hard to find different domains. There are search engines and directories but beware and fully make sure you anonymise yourself
