If you create a category and its slug is category/keyword. com and redirect it to a custom page that you want to rank for, would you index the category? Cheers

@vanda Special characters are allowed in URLs. It's just not a best-practice.

If it has some custom content on it yeah. The URL doesn’t make much odds to how to deal with category robot rules.

If you're redirecting the URL you cannot properly index it, although you might be able to get a search engine to show URL-only listings by linking to the redirected URL. I don't see the value in attempting to do this.
