Question

*URL DELETION* I sent the pages via the console and the webmasters/tools/removals and status shows "deleted" for 3 days now, but they still appear in searches. Does anyone know if there is a delay even if the status says "deleted"?

I haven't done this in ages. I think it was quick when I did it but I'm curious to know if anyone else has tried it recently. If not, I may have a URL I can test this on this week.

@narcotize thanks. The status shows deleted however the links still come up which is very frustrating. The new links sit right below the old link in searches, making it confusing for the reader (and ultimately not pro)

@urticaria Have you tried a hard refresh on your browser? Maybe you're looking at a cached image of the search result.

I will see if I can delete some URLs from a test site. It just happens to be showing some in search that it shouldn't. ADDED ON EDIT: I submitted 7 URLs for removal. Google said they would be removed on the next crawl. I also submitted 1 of the URLs for indexing to force a crawl. All 7 pages are duplicates from another site that were never supposed to be indexed by Google. They currently redirect to the original site. I'll let you know what happens.
