Creating custom my maps , with relevant info , importing KML form Google earth ( with its own set of tricks) - embedding that maps across your google properties . Also huge emebed runs on google my map. I also have ranked the Google earth link under branded entity terms.

@joann just concentrate on brand for your google properties and tie the properties together combined with schema . Not going to spill everything lol

Start with SEO Shield to get the brand entity going as @funkhouser18997 is talking about

@feaze911 even if something isn’t in the searchable index doesn’t mean that google doesn’t take notice of it, especially a google property.

Upload a lot of pictures with geotags and named as my kw

@muscid yes, they do strip away all that data.
by (2.2k points)
Who cares if they strip it, they see it.
by (3.6k points)
@muscid do you have a source for GMB not taking into account location data in pictures, such as photos edited in Google Photos editor?
by (5.8k points)
Either way you can't prove if they read it or not , only that yes it gets stripped
by (2.7k points)
@feaze911 There is no difference whether it's through the API or not through the API. I know some of us want to hype the API. but.

Getting your GMB on all other maps - IE map quest, bing, Apple (when possible) Batch geo . Stack these maps when possible . Add these maps to all other Google properties
by (1.8k points)
@necrotomy0 gotcha, yea I thought to myself. I remember looking at RYS, OMG, and SM many years back on the stacking part. I have some extremely advanced batchgeos. I didn't even know you came out with it. I was told by someone else. I do like them though. Right now I have a batchgeo coming out that is kind of like the old style my maps. It has radius's of up to 20 miles by even numbers. It has links to literally everything. A lot of testing coming out of this followed by embeds of course.
by (5.8k points)
Batch geo works great and indexes nicely

@funkhouser18997 I was just curious honestly. I didn't know who had what and where it came from. I love the history of this stuff. I have taken so many courses I get all of this stuff mixed up. I guess at the end of the day it doesn't matter where it came from.

Schema baby! All sorts of trick you can do with it to help associate the brand to other profiles.
by (1.8k points)
@lalia32 what's your best trick with it that works. I would love to test it. Thanks
by (480 points)
@lalia32 do you use "sameAs" or something else?
by (2.2k points)
Yes, curious what you do

Tip #1 find your GMB machine ID and add it to your schema.

@hysterics Is PBN such a dirty word these days?
by (1.6k points)
@upend42 nope. PBNs will always have its weightage in SEO. I am talking about web 2. 0s. PBNs still works.
by (470 points)
@hysterics pbn works like champ. If done correctly.

To be honest there’s no single thing that moves needle in maps. You need to have variety of good strategies That satisfy the local algorithm to rank.

- Share GMB URL on powerful sites. - Attractive images and videos - Complete description - Brand name + Primary Keyword - Genuine reviews from client, not from family n friends. - Response to all reviews - Answers on all questions - one to two posts in week.

Building geographical relevance with content centered around the city and neighborhoods you want to rank in. Also embedding driving directions into thise posts/pages either from a location in the city to your location or from your location to a random address in your area.
by (1.8k points)
@consuelaconsuelo sounds like brian Willie's approach. Do you silo them too?
by (840 points)
@feaze911 yes.
by (1.8k points)
@consuelaconsuelo about how long after you create these do you see increases? Thanks.
by (840 points)
It depends on a lot of factors but the needle usually starts moving within 20 to 30 days.

Add your keywords and location in the business name e. g., Total Builders Ltd, Conservatories, Ceilings, London. Keyword stuffing is against Google TOS, but they don't care. I talk to live support all the time, and never once have they mentioned any of my clients GMB listings having keywords or location where they shouldn't be. My clients usually rank number 1, or at the very least in 3rd (depending how competitive, and if the competition is also keyword stuffing). Do this and watch that needle move very quickly.
by (5.8k points)
That works for GMB but then its screws up your entity , so IMHO bad method and honestly pretty amateur
by (570 points)
Well it's worked and is working so far. I'm not SEO by the way. I've seen so-called 'legit' listings get suspended for apparently nothing, while mine remain intact.
by (5.8k points)
It does work , but you pay for it in organic
by (570 points)
My clients aren't too concerned with organic to their website, not much conversion to be had there. We focus our efforts on their sales funnels with paid traffic.
by (4.8k points)
@funkhouser18997 Wasn't the business you linked above in the screenshots "SEO Consulting" in the title? Not sure if that's yours or not, but isn't that the same thing?
by (5.8k points)
Yeah cause that is the name of the business not MRC SEO consulting - SEO experts or some stuffing like that . Nothing wrong with have keywords in your name but thats not stuffing.
by (2.9k points)
The problem with this though is that business owners and agencies are getting more savvy and aware of the spam problem so are more likely to edit your listing or report it. Brand name, brand entity is where it's at and those doing it now will have an advantage on the competition in the near future in my opinion.
by (570 points)
@earlap518 I've reported and edited listings myself to try and get an advantage over the competition, again, absolutely nothing happened. Maybe you're right about 'brand', but to the small business they don't really care about that because it's not bringing them business right now. And in all honesty, my clients who are sitting in number 1 spots don't generate that much business from GMB anyway. If the rug was pulled tomorrow they wouldn't really miss it.

Original brand name with registration tag. Like Roloak *Private Limited* Bob's plumbing *LLC* Reviews with positive intent words like. Satisfied, good team, like, loved, support, polite, honest, and more based on the niche. It really worked. And About section with keyword focused content. Service list with keywords under description(naturally) Website with footer link to GMB Also bring your staff reviews. Let them share the work experience or promising words to the clients. Works great in conversion
