I'm not a web designer but. I'm often tasked with doing that kind of work. My newest client has a brand new website (two days old) that had an SSL certificate, but the https wasn't default, the mailto links didn't work, and there was one page that still had lorem ipsum. Oh, Anyway, I'm trying to fix their website, but their home page still says it's not secure. I think it's because there's several links to on the home page and a http Powered by Wordpress link in the footer (Yes, they paid for someone to make a site with a free theme). Do I need to make the  links to https://www. w3. org/2000/svg links too fix this this not secure issue? How would I even do this? Again, this isn't really my hat so any help is appreciated.

I would look for embedded images, fonts, and/or scripts running on non-secure protocols. Outbound links don't usually trigger those kinds of warnings.

Search google for ‘why no padlock’ and run an audit. Normally finds the issue and tells you
