I'm considering SEO for my eCommerce store which is on a different platform, I was thinking of buying a decent expired domain, building a WP blog to educate customers then having 'SHOP' in the menu/header to take it to the sister site (my ecom store).

Im just wondering if Google will still pass on link juice to my store with this tactic?

Yes but it won’t work as well as using the same domain. It will be two separate websites
