YOAST SEOers, one question.  On one of our websites, we have a problem with paginations being indexed.YOAST SEOers, one question. On one of our websites, we have a problem with paginations being indexed. Our URLs look like this: domain. com/pagename/page/1 How can we prevent these from being indexed through YOAST? Unfortunately, there's no setting to do that, or maybe I just can't find it. Thanks for your help!

Big fan of doing pages with a param ? page=2 and/or canonical to homepage.

@posse934 Every page in any archive should point to itself. Canonicalizing page 2 to page 1 or homepage signals to search engines that those pages are duplicates and of no value.

If you noindex those kinds of pages that could reduce the crawl on your site. Some paginated indexes are useless but if you publish a lot of Posts you'll want to leave some of these archives open and visible to the crawlers. On large blogs they are the only way crawlers can get to deeply buried older Posts.

I will repeat @narcotize advice, long term noindex will lead to a nofollow which will negatively affect your deep archives being crawled properly and link equity distribution. It used to be a good practice to noindex your paginated archive till Google said that. As for Yoast, they by default index pagination and removed the option to undo that.

There is a Yoast for taking out media pages. Separate plugin for wordpress.

Same here, but unfortunately our client has YOAST FAQ manually done on 85 posts. So a bit of a hassle to transfer. :P
