@kyleekylen yes you are right it is used in running PPC campaigns but i am using it in organic rankings. I do not want to draw any manual action/penalty that is why I am discussing it here.

Just make sure to track it, test it, and use what you've learned. Example. I noticed you're using [Solved] in your meta title. What I've found, after doing some A/B testing with 10+ pages, is that approach can be a huge hit or a huge miss in terms of CTR.

@caryncaryo Make sure to try this on multiple pieces of content types and monitor at least weekly in GSC.

Meta title needs to be catchy. If the H1 is the same, ok. If it isn't, it might still be ok but then you may have a message match inconsistency problem. Traditional SEO doesn't care, but CRO does.

Its showing good results not because you are using different titles in both fields, but because you are using Title tag modifier/power-up - in your case its '[Solved]' title tag modifiers/power-ups when used properly will bring great results as they will caught viewer's attention directly increasing CTR with possible emotional/curiosity/problem solving hook such as Step-by-step, Checklist, Ultimate, Proven, Quick etc

@goodale this is just an example of one post I have around 200 posts on different topics using same tactics. To my surprise I was able to lift my ctr to 17% from 2 %

Why not just change the H1 to match the meta here? I would remove the bracketed Solved in H1 though, I think it's good for the SERP to catch views and get the click, but not necessary once users click through.

@morphology My BR and SD is also good but yes it a nice idea to introduce it in H1 tag as well. Thank you for stopping by and respond. :)

You can do it on all, but I take advantage of that feature to play around with title tags for CTR. Just keep track of the movements as a result and let them sit a while between changes.

Yoast, rank math, custom fields, it doesn't matter. In fact you ask if is a good practice to have <h1> (given by the wordpress title) different than the <title> (added by any SEO plugin). First of all, having them the same is just an over-simplification brought by the major blogging platforms. Second, like most here already said it: depends how you do it, but there is no policy or guideline saying h1 and title should be the same. Surely, they must be related though :)

@caryncaryo would “Divi Google Maps Error” be your keyword?

It all depends on what kind of SEO'r you are. I, on one hand, am a guy who uses three to five different titles at once in my meta title.
