Hey everyone, Quick question in regards to rel=canonical and 301 So a while ago I used the rel=canonical on two pages to show that the main page was the one I wanted to be the authority page and now we have updated that page to include the content form those two pages, should I just 301 redirect those two pages now? or is there a better process?

The above advice is solid. Just wanted to point out that technically, you should only canonical exact duplicate pages in the future.

You have incorporated one page into the other, or created a new one?

Hey @kingfisher13887, we have incorporated one page into the other

@lallygag then Redirect 301 /less-important-page /enhanced-page - is enough. Normally, having the canonical set to another page means the one is not indexed, but 1. who knows, Google does what he wants and 2. is normal practice to redirect when moving content, good also for managing properly any links you might have to it
